Nelson Mandela left a great impact on the world, he changed things that others thought were not possible, he united the world in his own way. Mandela was the first black president of the Republic of South Africa and the first black person to hold this position. As Wikipedia says: He studied law in his youth. He was active in the political movement for the realization of the rights of the black majority in South Africa. In 1961, he was one of the founders of the military wing of the African National Congress, which organized sabotage. Because of this activity, he was accused of terrorism, for which he spent 27 years in prison (1964 – 1990).
After his release from prison, he again engaged in politics. He was respected for his conciliatory attitude towards whites and for the efforts he made to unite South Africans, who had been racially and tribally divided for centuries. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993, the Sakharov Prize in 1988 and many other awards. He passed away yesterday after an illness at the age of 95.
